This page is my prophecies on what Microsoft will do to make our digital lives miserable. I already hear you Microsoft fanboys playing the Invisible Pink Unicorn card. But it can happen if we don't vote with our wallets.
1. It will be very difficult to buy a PC without proprietary closed-source hardware and windows Vista installed: Microsoft is conspiring with the hardware manufacturers to make sure the PC's hardware, such as sound and graphics card, will run on Windows only. They want to make it so that you cannot watch certain movies through a high-quality analogue output. They will make it so CD-recordable drives cannot rip audio CDs without a "cop chip" to log what albums were infringed. Already they have dominated LightScribe disc labeling and made it Windows only. They have already created much e-waste from modems that only run on Windows (Winmodems). If you have no car and no credit card, you will be required to run Windows
2. Microsoft is conspiring with internet providers to block ports on ISPs to make file sharing impossible:They don't want you to pirate their crappy OS which has no value. SO DONT! Mabye if they find out that no one is wasting the bandwidth that consumers paid their hard earned money for to warez Vista, then you might be able to share your GBA GSM mixtape ROM images and other mostly legal files more easily. They might back off.
3.Microsoft wants to have control over your machine:
Read that last sentence and let it sink in
There will be many DRM processes running in the background, and since there's no source code to Windows Vista, the honest paying law-abiding user will never know. If they wanted to they could use WinPopUp or another closed-source communications channel to shove a political agenda down your throat Examples: don't steal DVD ISOs/holocaust never happened/all war all the time/atheism is pride, and you'd believe it was just someone spamming, and Microsoft will back that up. Think about it. No more game console emulators. No DVD-9 (dual layer) burning without paying a fee, even if the VIDEO_TS is a movie you made with your legally purchased camcorder in your own home. Stealth firewalls to block legal uses of communications such as Telnet so people can't speak out against Microsoft. "Seven Dirty Words" keypress filtering or keylogging. Only one media player would be installed, and it would have "excessive flesh/blood tone image filtering" to enforce the agendas of do-gooders. Think BIG! And there's also the mongoloid stepbaby factor where the computer becomes annoying to use (remember Data Execution Prevention) and won't let you run a program because it dishonestly believes that you might infect your system. It might be something stupid like making it difficult to use the full legal power of your WLAN antenna.
4.Microsoft will be in your car:They already have prototypes of cars that won't go over the speed limit, even if it's to drive your child away from a crazed pedophile intent on making him behead his own father with a pocket knife. Closed-source means you cannot legally fix these limitations.
5.Microsoft and Sony will work together to sue homebrew enabling hardware/mod chip manufactures out of existence:No NES emulator on your Xbox, even future ones. No linux on any newly manufactured computer device (even IA-32 PCs!)or appliance.
