Ivan the Ignorant and the Protracker Music Box
STORY:
(printed on receipt paper)
Ivan the Ignorant, Tsar of Russia, bought a Protracker Music Box from Frodo Baggins. The year was 1682 A.D. which is 1422 Shire-reckoning. Ivan was so happy to receive a parcel from the United Package Smashers on July 1, 1682. He took out heavy-but-cool, loaded it, and turned the crank. Realistic pizzacato strings filled the room along with bass and snare drums. He then listened to go-for-it and enjoyed the sound. It reminded him of the times of previous Ivans. It was so great to be Tsar during the 80's, just like Ivan Grozny
The Protracker Music Box combines the advantages of Rings and Punched Paper Tape.
The advertisement above is for a Protracker Music Box made in Middle Earth. It featured 4 channels of digital samples reproduced by Radagast's mechanical D/A converters. Samples were stored using Gandalf's mechanical RAM and the idea for a sample-based music box came from Pippin and Frodo (In the real world it came from Karsten Obarski. You may have seen the link on my main Amish page back in 1999, it is now removed as it became a link to a less than savory site.).
The following songs came with the Protracker Music Box that Ivan ordered.
1. Heavy-but-cool
2. go-for-it
3. (SLL series)
4. (AWESOME series)
5. Ralleymaster (1 and 2)
6. Jackdance
7. Crystalhammer
8. Badlands
9. Cant get enough
10. Push maxi-remix

In 1683 the Amish, then known as "The Children Of The Corn" released "Bridge to the Universe", a stack of modules which were also released on 12"  Mithril Disc.
In July 1692 news of the hangings in Salem Massachusets disheartened the Children Of The Corn, so they made a Mithril Disc of the following songs and labeled it "1692" These Songs were playing in many Protracker Music Boxes in Mass. Also, just before the witch trials, the Screamtracker 3 Music Box was introduced. This could do 16 channels of digital sound, plus 16 channels of FM sound.
Want to hear a module I wrote? Legolas.mod is an original melody in four channel Protracker MOD format. I used the samples from the ST-XX sample disk series, so therefore I put the song in the public domain. You can play this in Winamp or a MOD player.
