The Faerytale Fan Page!
This page is for 450AD to 1754AD fantasy/sword-and-sorcery fairytale stories with mechanical technology that is sorcery-free and electrical technology that uses witchcraft. The Final Fantasy stuff you find on the Playstation games don't even deserve the name "fantasy". Mechanical things work a heck of a lot better and is much safer to use than the electrical stuff. Dragons are friendly and don't commit arson. Many creatures get along with the humans, dwarves, elves, faeries, hobbits, and wizards. However the evil Edward the Longshanks partners up with Sauron to kill people in the bloodiest and most painful deaths imaginable. Take this page with a grain of salt, it's meant to be funny and not ungodly. Any text in #FF0000 RED ink is the true stuff, the rest is witchy/fantasy/joking.

A list of some modern technologies, and what is different or not used in the Faerytale Era.
Technology is best if it is entirely without any electrons flowing, though very small amounts for something life-saving (like a smoke detector, or the thermocouple on a propane heater) is acceptable. Using too much electricity opens you to the risk of being burned at the stake. There were no cars, sorcery-free telephones, or sorcery-free electricity until 1752, after which the fantasy deteriorated rapidly in 2 years. Fashions were just like Medieval Europe, and they could use at any time anything up to 1754 AD anytime during the period. Gunpowder came out in 1678 with the Fire of Orthanc, but wasn't used very much as it was harmful to the existence of fairytale creatures.

A magical time, even though it can kill you...Above  is the symbol of Edward the Longshanks, a person who's worse-than-pagan who wants to make the fantasy land a tough place to live. When you see a castle with the holed pentagram (not one with straight lines) avoid it, or you can get hexed by a sorcerer. The solid straight lined one just means you're crafty and love nature and dress beautifully.
(true stuff follows: Artemis/Hecate/Thor/Odin  never did anything for me, don't ever worship anyone but the God of Abraham. Isn't it strange that you can find a 5 pointed star in a circle on a cajun spice shaker in a grocery store?)
